Erlangen School Student Research Center for Bavaria ESFZ

School Student Research Center at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen aiming to support students interested in natural sciences and engineering

Background information and project

The Dr. Hans Riegel Foundation has been supporting the Erlangen School Student Research Center ESFZ at the University FAU Erlangen since 2019. The ESFZ provides school students an environment to experiment and tinker with science, giving them the opportunity to realize projects they themselves came up with in research camps. They come to the ESFZ for one week during their holidays to work on their own project ideas. The student tutors who actively support and guide the participants in their projects are worth a special mention. The camps take place in modern, well-equipped rooms at the University in Erlangen. Four research camps are held each year, they are open to participants aged 14 and above. The support for the ESFZ will run for a period of three years, ensuring both the supervision as well as the material resources.
